Dr. Carvalho’s commitment to acute care is evidenced by his leadership roles, notably as the deputy director of the Emergency and Reanimation Medical Vehicle Team from 2016 to 2019 and as a team leader in the Emergency Department starting in 2018. His dedication to advancing his knowledge and skills took him to King’s College London in 2017 for a rheumatology internship, marking the beginning of his active involvement in treating autoimmune diseases.
Beyond his clinical achievements, Dr. Carvalho has made significant contributions to healthcare technology projects. Notably, he played a key role in developing an early warning tool for clinical degradation in hospitalized patients in Lisbon, Portugal, showcasing his ability to merge medical expertise with technological innovation. This work, among other projects, contributed to achieving the prestigious EMRAM level 7 from HIMMS Analytics in 2018.
Additionally, his engagement with the academic community as a Guest Reviewer for the “”GAZETA MÉDICA”” since 2021 further highlights his dedication to the field of medicine, both in practice and in advancing medical knowledge through critical review and scholarship.
